This remarkable achievement highlights the growing strength of the country\u2019s young scientific talent on the global stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sri Lankan team, guided by team mentor Prof Laksiri Weerasinghe, consisted of four dedicated students: Himaru Abeygunarathne (Trinity College, Kandy), Ravindu Bandara Ranathunga (Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala), Geethilihansa Ganaewaththage Don (Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo), and Niththilan Pirabakaran (Kilinochchi&nbsp;Central&nbsp;College,&nbsp;Kilinochchi). Competing against some of the brightest young chemists from around the world, the team demonstrated exceptional knowledge, analytical skills, and perseverance throughout the demanding competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad is widely regarded as one of the most challenging chemistry competitions globally, featuring rigorous theoretical and practical examinations that test students at the highest level.
