Students who won bronze medals and an honorable mention at the 53rd International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) 2021 representing Sri Lanka were recognized recently at an award ceremony organized by the Chemistry Olympiad Sri Lanka committee of the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon (IchemC). This event was held on 14th December 2021 at the IChemC headquarters. Senior Professor Sudantha Liyanage, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura grace this occasion as the Chief Guest.

Nadun Naveendra Rajapaksha (Dharmaraja College, Kandy), Kelambi Arachchige Achira Hansindu (Mahinda College, Galle) and Manujaya Praveen Wijesinghe (Royal College, Colombo) who won bronze medals, and Dinithi Shalika Madhubhashini (Southlands College, Galle) who won an honorable mention at IChO 2021 awarded with the medals and certificates received from Japan. This is the 2nd time in history a Sri Lankan team participated in the IChO. The Sri Lankan team won three bronze medals and one honourable mention in IChO 2020 too.  

Furthermore, the winners of the National competition held in May 2021 also received their awards and certificates at this event.
