Preliminary Round of the Sri Lanka National Chemistry Olympiad (SLNChO) and Sri Lanka Junior Chemistry Olympiad Competition – 2026

The Institute of Chemistry Ceylon (IChemC) annually conducts the Sri Lanka National Chemistry Olympiad (SLNChO) competition to recognize talented students in Chemistry and select the best four students to represent Sri Lanka in the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO). The Institute also organizes the Sri Lanka Junior Chemistry Olympiad competition for G.C.E (Ordinary Level) students. National level winners will receive medals, certificates, monetary awards, and scholarships to study a chemistry degree at the IChemC.

Both examinations are scheduled to be held in January 2026 at island-wide centers (exact date will be announced soon).

The deadline for applications is Thursday, 20^th November 2025.

Details of the two competitions are given below.

Any number of students can participate from a school for both competitions. Those who are interested should fill in the online application form at http://www.web.ichemc.edu.lk/cosl/.
